Vijaya 2009 Message and Greetings

Sri Vijaya 2009
Dear Friend,

On the occasion Sri Vijaya Dashami, we convey our greeting and bestwishes. May the Divine mother showever her blessing on all her children for their peace and progress is our prayer to Her. Worship of the divine mother Sri Durga was performed in this center on Ashtami Day with due solemnity and all the assembled devotees were given lunch prasad. On Saptami and Navami we had simple pooja and Chandi Path.

By the grace of the Divine Mother, all the programmes organised from 5th to 11th September went off very well. Revered Swami Smarananandaji Mj laid the foundation for the Universal Temple of Sri Ramakrishna on 6th September followed by Inauguration of the 'Office-library-book sale building' by Swami Atmaramanandaji. All the programmes were well attended and was appreciated by one and all.

On 11th September (the memorable day on which Swami Vivekananda gave his first address at the Chicago Parliament of religions – and now celebrated as universal brotherhood day) the School Building was inaugurated by the District Collector and Rev. Swami Veetabhayanandaji. This programme also was attended by about 1000 people, mostly Student community from various colleges of Kadapa & Kurnool and few schools. Sri P.Ellareddy Principal of a College in Mahaboob Nagar gave a fiery speech on Swami Vivekananda which was appreciated by one and all for its content and delevary. The absence of the dignitaries who could not participate due to the sudden demise of the Chief Minister Dr.Y.S.Rayasekhara Reddy was never felt. The school building has 10 class rooms, other rooms and necessary facilities. It will start functioning from next academic year. In the mean time, we are to make ready other paraphernalia like furniture, school buses, teacher selection & training etc. including collecting money for them!

Even the regular Anteryoga (half day retreat) we hold on 2nd Sunday of every month attracted more people this time.

With Best Wishes and Namaskars again
Yours in the service of the Lord

Sri Ramakrishna

Significance of the daily worship to Sri Ramakrishna

A Devotee worships daily his or her chosen deity. The devotee worships Him as his / her whole refuge at all times including when every thing goes well or at the time of crisis.

At the time of pooja the deity is brought out from the inner chamber of one’s heart and is offered hospitality like on to an honored guest.

Sri Ramakrishna is our chosen deity (Ishta Devata). Hence, pooja is offered to Him in the shrine. On behalf of all the inmates and devotees, the poojari offers daily worship. Others only join in congregational singing, chanting etc. and other services.

Significance of Sri Rama Nama Sankirtan

Lord Sri Rama is considered the most ideal human, (ie. ideal son, brother, husband, friend, statesman etc.) who can be of guidance to all devotees. By participating in Rama Nama Sankirtan, devotees remember all those noble qualities and thus seek to imbibe them in their own lives.

Sri Anjaneya, who is a constant devotee and companion of Sri Rama is also remembered when Rama is worshiped. Swami Vivekananda wanted the purity, faithfulness, valor, determination and other noble qualities of Mahavir Hanuman as an ideal for our youngsters. Hence he wished Mahavir should be worshiped.
