Inauguration of Swami Shivananda Sadhu Nivasam

This inauguration commemorates the visit of Swami Shivananda, one of the direct disciples of Sri Ramakrishna, to Kadapa about 90+ years back and hence the Monk's Quarters has been named as 'Swami Shivananda Sadhunivasam'. The inauguration has been done by Rev. Swami Athmasthanandaji, Vice President of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Belur Math on 14th March 2007 along with a spiritual retreat on 15th March 2007 followed by 'Mantra Deeksha' to selected devotees on 16th March 2007.
A Brief Report
By the Lord's grace the celebrations to mark the Dedication of the shrine and prayer hall along with the Monks Quarters on 14th to 16th March went of very well bringing joy to one and all . In all 86 sadhus and more than a thousand devotees from far and near attended the celebrations. On 14th early morning, Revered Swami Atmasthanandaji Maharaj, Vice-President of Ramakrishna Order led the procession of monks and devotees from the main gate of the Ashrama campus amidst Vedic chants, nadaswaram and bhajans and consecrated the shrine by offering flowers and performing arati at the shrine. Later he unveiled the plaque marking the inauguration of the newly built Swami Shivananda Sadhu Nivasam and presided over the public meeting held in the afternoon. Overall, spread over the three days, the celebrations consisted of: lectures by eminent speakers and monks, cultural presentations, Harikatha, Bhajans and retreat for devotees and inauguration of meditation hall at the Kadapa city centre. We concluded the programme with Narayana Seva on Ugadi Day.Three Day Programme Details - 14th, 15th & 16th March 2007
